Update Your "Be a Scout Pin" !

Hello Walton Trail! It is officially recruitment season here in Middle Tennessee! In today's world parents are able to sign up for more and more things online from soccer to getting a baby sitter and they expect Scouting to be no different! Thankfully for the parents wanting to go this route Scouting has them covered!

Beascout.org is a great resource for prospective Scouting families and is usually the first thing many of these families see about the BSA. It will tell them what Scouting is, why it is a good fit for them and their family and where they can find a pack, troop, crew or ship near them!

How do these parents find out about these potential units near them? Through your units listing of course! You may know it better as your "Be a Scout Pin"!

When these prospective families visit Beascout.org and begin to look for units near them they will see something very similar to the image below.

If your unit is one of those pins, you want that prospective Scout parent to have a direct line of communication to you. That way you can tell them all about how awesome Pack 123 or Troop 456 is!
There is just one problem: some units haven't updated their pins, meaning there's an extra obstacle between you and a new member of your unit! But don't worry! Updating your pin is easy, and it's well worth your time! Before we jump into this quick and simple process lets take a look at an updated and non-updated pin below!

This Scouting Wire article gives you a step by step process to update your Units online Pin! This is a great way to increase your units overall membership growth! Lets get as many youth into Scouting as we can this fall!
